An Unwelcome Job Change...

As I'm doing all these fun Christmas posts, it occurs to me I should probably update you on another item of interest. We found out a few days ago that Big Sky Airlines (who Lee flies for) is going to be going out of business. All Boston pilots will be laid off as of Jan. 7 (or sooner). We weren't totally surprised by the news, but we were obviously hoping it wouldn't happen.

Although this is not fun news, especially during Christmas, we are optimistic about getting a new job. There are lots of jobs Lee could get, but we are hoping to find one that can still get us to Southwest Airlines as soon as possible. Oh, and we'd also like to find a job where we would make enough money to support ourselves, which is hard to do until you get to the major airlines. (This Big Sky job was a major blessing while we had it!) Right now, Lee is staying over in Boston to help the company through to the end and get as many hours as possible. He's also trying to find time to get his resume out.

Right now I'm choosing to be grateful for two things: 1) That we chose not to have the girls and I move out east, which was a definite plan at one point, and 2) That we will likely have Lee home for a while between jobs. Yeah for blessings in the midst of trials!!

So sorry to hear about this! We will be praying for you. I'm glad that you've been able to see the silver lining, and I'm sure that Lee will love spending some extra time with you and the girls. Hang in there!

So glad you're seeing the positives. I just heard a devotional this morning about a lady and her husband who decided they'd make his terminal cancer an uplifting experience, no matter what happened.

You guys have a way of having crazy things happen only to be blessed even more after the craziness. I know this is yet another example of one of those things. The trick is to enjoy the ride ... :)
