My Mother's Day Gift

Lee was able to come home for Mother's Day, which was wonderful. He helped me do a few things around the house, but he spent all of Saturday night in the garage. I heard the sound of sawing and nailing. At one point, he got the girls and took them into the garage -- but only after ensuring they were dressed in over sized paint shirts. Hmm...what could be going on in there?

The next morning, I was presented with my Mother's Day present:
A beautiful flower box that says, "Dear Mother, all flowers remind me of you." I had the girls pose in the box since I don't yet have flowers to put in there. (The flowers in their hair were things I made at Super Saturday for church -- it's a rare day when I do creative things...) The box fits perfectly on our front porch between the front door and the bench (that you can't see in the picture because I have yet to re stain and waterproof it).

Today I woke up feeling energized, so I went to an hour of yoga and then ran five miles. Then I came home and cleaned the entire day until 3:45 -- I cleaned the ceiling fan, finished cleaning the blinds and windows, and cleaned the entire house (including using vacuum attachments to clean corners and edges, cleaning the stove and microwave, etc.). To top it all off, I went to karate tonight again. Let's just say my body is not too pleased with me right now. The point is, though, you know it's a good Mother's Day when you wake up the next morning feeling energized to spend all day in physical exercise of sorts. :)

That is the sweetest gift! I'm super jealous - but he's my brother so I always knew he had it in him. A very thoughtful gift. I always loved that primary song. Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's day. Love you!
