Spanish Fork 24th of July Parade
This morning there was a huge parade here in Spanish Fork celebrating Pioneer Day. It turns out it's a HUGE event. People started putting out lawn chairs yesterday and others arrived really early for a spot. Denise's dad came through for us so we didn't have to get there too early -- thanks Bruce! Here's a picture of the girls waiting for the parade to start:
And here's my girls (on the right) waving to some of the many "princesses" that came by:
They figured out pretty quickly that waving a making noise equals candy, so here's a picture of Brynne, Kimi (Denise's neice), Zachary (Denise's son) and Morgan trying to wave down some candy. All the adults are hanging out in the back on the chairs.
This was the best part of the parade. Only in Utah could you have a bunch of missionaries walk as one of the entries and have everyone scream in excitement -- well, not everyone, the kids are trying to figure out where the candy is....
Now we're off to Denise's for a fun-filled day of food and play. So far today is looking like it should be much better than yesterday. And just to make sure, I'm keeping my car parked the entire day! :)

Hil,
Weren't we suppose to run a 10K today? Ooops! By the way, in all my life I have never gone to a July 24th celebration. Maybe next year we can join you in Spanish Fork.
I love a parade - do the girls share their candy?
