Osmonds, Muchnicks, and Ruths

I blogged so much a few weeks back that I figured I deserved a little break. I have a funny story to share. The only thing is...my friend Denise already blogged about it. I figure you can just read the funny story on her blog: click here. It's her blog titled "Funny story, fun concert." I stole this picture from her blog. You'll have to read the story to find out what this picture is all about... :)

In other news...I scrubbed my kitchen floor on my hands and knees for more than 1 1/2 hours today. It feels so clean right now! I actually woke up at 5:30 this morning to get started on everything that needed done before we leave again tomorrow. I entered receipts, paid August bills, programmed the thermostat for our downstairs renters, washed all the sheets, remade the beds, cleaned (bathrooms, dusting, floors, etc. -- everything!!), called to do my visiting teaching report, cleaned out the boat swimming pool in the backyard, and then I sent the kids off to a birthday part while I packed. I haven't put everything in the car yet, but I'm close. I've got kids in the bath right now, but once they're out I'll basically be done with the "to-do's" for today. (Blogging wasn't on the list, but I realized it needed done...)
A few weekends ago, the girls and I went to Lee's sister Ruth's house for an extended family reunion. All of Lee's step siblings were there (including Margaret and her family who live in Germany). It was lots of fun to see everyone. Here's a picture of Morgan and I sitting outside visiting with everyone. And look -- there's Margaret's arm next to us: proof that she was there! :)
And here are my kids with all their long-lost cousins. Check out Morgan in the front row being crazy. And it looks like her fingers are going up Brynne's nose, which I figure is a nice change from Brynne's own fingers being up her nose. Anyway, it was lots of fun.
I also got to see my friend Ruth Cockrell from Salmon. She came down yesterday and took me to dinner for my birthday (she's one of the most selfless people I know). My kids played at Aunt Ruth's again while I went to dinner with "Miss Ruth", as my kids call her. Everyone was confused the whole day about Aunt Ruth vs. Miss Ruth. I even brought one of Aunt Ruth's kids home with me. We went to Denise's to play, and she was totally confused thinking she was Miss Ruth's. Lee said I should blog about "A Tale of Two Ruths", and I probably should have, but I am a wee bit tired and have to get kids out of the bath. That really would have been a good one, though...
We're off to Wyoming (again)! :)
