In Memory of Glenavere Ross, My Grandmother
On Tuesday last week, I received word that my Grandma Ross had passed away. She is my Dad's mom. She has lived in Canada the entire time I've been alive, so I haven't been as close to her as I would have liked. We drove up to visit every 2-4 years, and she came down periodically. Most of the visits, unfortunately, were when I was younger so I don't remember them as well. In fact, I think she and my Grandpa Ross came down every year when he was alive.
When Morgan was a baby, I made a trip to Canada that I will be forever grateful for. I took the following pictures while I was there. The first is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. It's my Grandma holding Morgan. Have you ever seen two happier or cuter people? :)
This is a picture of my Aunt Jenie and Uncle Jay. Jenie is my Dad's sister, and she is an amazing woman. She has raised six wonderful children and has taken care of my Grandma for many, many years. Jenie and Jay took care of Grandma even while they were battling their own health problems. Our family is so grateful for their sacrifice and service. They are great examples of selflessness.
Here's one of me along with Grandma and Morgan.
These pictures mean more to me now than ever. I am so grateful to have them. I am just as grateful to have the memories from that visit. It was wonderful seeing many of my cousins again and getting the chance to visit more with Jenie and Jay, but I especially loved seeing Grandma and letting her meet Morgan.
I don't have as many memories of Grandma as I'd like, but there is one thing that stands out in my mind. Her laugh. I can close my eyes and imagine Grandma laughing as clearly as though she were sitting next to me. It was a contagious laugh and was full of life. I love my Grandma and will miss her...
