Tomorrow we officially begin the crazy part of our summer. We will be spending the rest of June in Wyoming. During that time my good friend Ruth will be coming to stay for a few days. We'll also be camping at Martin's Cove one night, and we'll be spending one of the weekends in Fort Collins visiting my relatives there. Then we head out on a two week trek to the Washington coast. We'll actually only be on the coast for three days, but we're taking our sweet time and making lots of stops on the way up and back. Then we come back to SLC and try to catch two friends who will be vacationing down this way. In the midst of that, we'll be having our Ross Family Reunion at my sister Alyson's in Layton. Then it's back home to have birthdays for Morgan and me, and I'm also going to try and run a 10K during that time too. Then it's back to Wyoming for a while. I'm hoping to get in some camping during that time. And then we get to hit the Dinosaur Park in Vernal before coming home just in time for Morgan to start school. Crazy!!!!!

I decided to spice up this run-of-the-mill blog with a few fun pictures. After days of hearing Morgan beg to take a picture, I finally allowed her to take one. She snapped the picture of Brynne and me above. And you know how things work -- if Morgan get to take a picture, so does Brynne. So Brynne took the one of Morgan and Purdy below. Purdy is Morgan's favorite stuffed animal in the whole world. Every night she prays that she will be able to keep Purdy always even when she's old.

I mentioned a few blogs back that I hoped to get a picture of Morgan with her other teacher. Well here it is: This is Miss Berger, who Morgan had in the morning. Miss Berger was great because I felt she really cared about Morgan and helping her succeed (rather than just being a teacher). I hope all Morgan's teachers can be like Miss Berger.

Even though we'll be gone most of the summer, we joined the summer reading program. As one of the activities, they asked families to make bugs. Remember the blog about my helping Morgan make a Valentine's Day box? Well, we all know my creativity is limited (and that's putting it nicely). So when Lee was in town this weekend, I had him help the girls make a bug. I'm quite impressed with how it turned out. If you click on the picture to make it bigger you get a better view of the cool eyes.

So back to the whole summer craziness... I spent the entire day trying to get ready to leave tomorrow. Denise was nice enough to take my kids for a big chunk of the day. She also made us yummy, yummy, yummy egg rolls for dinner. Yum! (There isn't any egg in the roll, so why is it called that?)
Here's how the day went down: I woke up and started laundry. Then I made breakfast for the kids (can't just do cereal when there are eggs and bread that need used up). After breakfast we hurried to the gym for a quick hour of running. Then I took a quick shower and got the kids in the bath while I changed the laundry and started cleaning the house. After an hour (yes, my kids play in the bath for an hour -- but only if they are in separate baths so they don't fight) I got the kids washed up and fed them lunch so Denise could come pick them up.
This is the point in the story where I did something funny... I went to change the laundry. I took the pants out of the dryer, moved the white clothes into the dryer, and then got the soap all dissolved in the washer. Then I meant to grab the light clothes to throw in their, but instead I grabbed the nice, clean, dry pants and put them back in the washer. Oops! I discovered it in time to pull some of them back out, but so much for being efficient...I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the house, folding laundry, and packing. After a yummy dinner at Denise's (and a much needed break!), I came home and wrote in Morgan's journal, finished folding the towels, put the kitchen back together (I'd taken everything out to clean the floors), and now I'm writing the blog. I think all I have left to do is get the movies ready for the girls. Then it's off to bed. Unfortunately, there's still a whole list of stuff that needs done tomorrow before we leave...
The important thing for you to remember from this blog is that my summer is going to be crazy; hence, who knows when I'll be putting up new posts. I hope to still blog at least once a week, but there's a good chance I'll miss several weeks here and there. Just thought I'd warn you.
Have a great summer!

Warning received. And I guess you didn't know -- there ARE eggs in my egg rolls. Just happens to be a very minor ingredient, unlike the beef, black fungus and bean thread. Mmmm ... :)
(Now anyone who hasn't had them won't be interested. :)
I love the pictures of the girls. Soon I will have the girls instead of just the pictures and that will be so fun. You can mess up my laundry any time you are here and it won't bother me a bit.
