Hodge Podge (sp?) And Stuff Like That

The intent of this blog is to let you all know I'm still alive and well. I'm not sure what has happened lately, but I've been really out of touch with the blogging world. I think it was the fact that we went to Rawlins for spring break. Being away from a structured/scheduled life for that week sort of caused me to lose touch with life as it was. I imagine that's what may happen in the summer too. If I have long stretches again with no blogs -- don't give up on me!!!!

So as not to have a blog about absolutely nothing, I have included a few random pics. This first one is a classic. This is my sister Lindsey just after we rode Splash Mountain in Disneyland. It's dark, but hopefully you can tell that she is absolutely drenched. The cup she is holding with so much love and carefulness is actually hot chocolate. She is trying to get warm by holding it. :) Needless to say, the rest of us were very grateful that Lindsey was willing to be the front man on the ride. (If you click on the picture to see a close up, you'll see just how wet she was!)
And here are a few pictures of my girls at Wheeler Farm (where Alyson and I ran the 5K). I mentioned Lee's sister Ruth came down with her family. Well, here are the girls with their uncle and cousins (Morgan, Elijah, Aaron, Brynne, and Kirsten).
And here are my beautiful girls looking at a horsey. Thanks for the great picture, Ruth! :)
Even though I haven't been in touch, lots is happening. The scariest thing is that Lee's step-dad, Mark, has been really sick in the hospital. He has had numerous surgeries and is struggling to get better. (Our thoughts and prayers are with him and Sarah!!!!)

Also, our sweet renters moved out from downstairs, and we have new renters moving in this weekend. It's empty right now, so I had the girls take turns going downstairs and running around so they could see what it sounds like when they do things like jump off the couch or run around in their shoes.

I also got outside to try and do a few things. I got the garage all cleaned out and then got the lawn mower going to keep these weeds (and a little grass) under control. I am anxious for when we can work on landscaping, but that's a project for when Lee is around. I did go to the store, however, for some weed killer and a spray canister. I intend to spray that all around next week.

The coolest thing is that I fixed the swing set. Two of the play things were broken, and I went out there with my tools and got everything put back together. Man did I ever feel cool after that one!!

I have done a little more with Isagenix too and have lost three more pounds. I'm pretty much where I want to be, so now I'm working hard on the cardio and the toning. :) I'm real impressed with this product and will probably write more about it soon.

This is the last week of school. [I mean month, thanks for the heads up in your comment, Denise.] Morgan starts swimming lessons on Monday, so it will be a busy month. I figure the month will fly by! And then the summer is going to be crazy. We have lots of traveling planned, which doesn't really agree with the gas prices so it could be interesting.

If you haven't already, be sure to read my next blog about Alyson and me running a 5K. Then be sure to read the comments for that blog. My friend Denise is pretty funny. :)

What Hilary meant is that this is the last MONTH of school. Don't get our kids out any earlier than they already are. I've got to get some structure planned before they're done with school!

If you ever want to practice on grass, feel free to practice on mine. :)

And at least you'll have lots of fun this summer, even if the gas prices make you cringe. I'll be sitting at home trying not to harm my children who will probably drive me nuts looking for things to do ...
