BeRighteous.com

I understand very little about computers, yet I'm giving in to the call of the blogging bug. (Check me out Mom -- I'm making a blog and haven't broken my computer yet!) I decided a few months ago that I'd like to do a blog, but I knew I wouldn't get very far with a 1980's computer. (Isn't that like 500 years in computer age?) Last week we got our brand new Dell, and now I'm off and running. The only problem is, I fear I will break the computer...
I didn't used to be afraid of computers. I took lots of classes in college, and at one point my resume claimed proficiency in HTML, QuarkXPress, and others. Now I can't even think what the 'others' are. I felt like a fish out of water trying to buy a new computer -- How am I supposed to know what I want? I'm still trying to figure out what an MP3 Player is how I'm supposed to develop film from a digital camera.

I have two little girls who almost know more about my computer than I do. They recently began hearing commercials for the first time in their known memory. What did they pick up on? The phrase "dot com." I'll never forget the first time Morgan asked if she could "log onto 'w' 'w' dot com." Now it's always "Mommy, can I log onto 'Barbie dot com?'"
Last Sunday, Morgan asked if she could get on the computer. I told her we don't play on the computer on Sundays. She said, "Well, we could log onto 'church.com', or 'happyfamily.com'." I wasn't sure I'd ever quit laughing when she suggested 'berighteous.com'. (By the way, I have not tried any of these websites, and I do not recommend anyone else do it either--you never know what you'll find these days.)

I see a button that says "Add Image", so I'm going to go way out on a limb and try for a picture here. If it works, it'll be a picture of Morgan and Brynne with our new computer. If you see the picture, please be sure to tell me how impressed you are. Otherwise, don't give up on me yet...
Hey! That was so easy, I'm going to take one of myself too! Here's a picture of me with our new computer. On the screen you can see this blog that I'm preparing to post. Wow do I ever feel smart now! :)

Wow! I am so impressed. It was really going out on a limb for me to get involved with this whole blog-sphere. However, I find it to be very satisfying in regards to my networking needs as a housewife living on a remote island who is not very assertive when it comes to correspondence. I love seeing pictures of you and the girls. You are doing an awesome job. I am so glad to have this means to communicate. I will keep checking in. Love to the family!
